This spacious ground floor apartment at Abercromby Drive is set in the most exclusive part of Bridge of Allan on the edge of the town. A handsome Victorian mansion, now converted into 3 apartments, one of which offers self catering accommodation. Visitors can enjoy all the elegance and space afforded by architects of a bygone era. The rooms are nicely proportioned, handsome, with large windows and "a view to die for" from the sitting room, looking out at the historic Stirling Castle and the "Braveheart' countryside of the Carse of Stirling. The modern furnishings and drapes compliment the apartment very well.
The setting is peaceful with the Ochil Hills and Sherrifmuir to the rear and all the amenities of Bridge of Allan, a small town close to Stirling and its University, that offers an excellent range of shops and restaurants. There's an excellent restaurant within a 5-minute walk and and a variety of eating out places in the town from the cheap and cheerful to very high standard. If you prefer to buy your own food, Bridge of Allan will not disappoint, with its high class delicatessan, fruit and vegetable shop and a good wine merchant. The University Campus of Stirling lies between Bridge of Allan and Stirling.
There are so many wonderful places to explore from this exceptional apartment, by car or by train from Stirling. Visits to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth can all be reached in 30 minutes from Stirling. St Andrews, with its ancient University and Golf Courses, and the Fife coast may be reach by driving along the Ochil foothills via Loch Leven and Kinross. Detour by Falkand Palace, hunting palace of the Stuart Kings of Scotland. The Loch Lomond National Park to the north is well worth exploring; you will want at least a day to discover Loch Lomond itself. Travel further north to Crianlarich and Glencoe for spectacular highland scenery. Towards Perth you will want to visit Scone Palace, home of the Earls of Mansfield and former crowning place of the Kingd of Scotland. North of Pitlochry lies Blair Castle, where the Duke of Atholl who has the only remaining private army in Britain.
Visit Scotland for beautiful scenery, its remarkable diversity, spectacular gardens particularly in May and June, ancient monuments, castles, houses, fascinating esperiences, unique shopping experiences and source of excellent produce. Try to sample the fare from a Farmers Market, or one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Go to Highland Games, a memorable experience and a great day out. Take the train to Mallaig from Stirling, one of the best train journeys in the world. There are so many things to do and see, one visit will not be enough.
