The Broch Abode is a comfortable, modern, one bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor of a striking new circular building inspired by the stone towers built in Scotland over 2000 years ago. This modern "Broch" is around 5 minutes walk from Perth city centre.
The 3rd floor of the Broch is reached by stairs or lift to the shared hallway which leads to the entrance of the Broch Abode. The lounge and dining area is comfortably furnished with a comfortable armchair and double reclining sofa and a modern dining suite. It is also equipped with a small TV and DVD player, radio and CD player. From the windows you can see over the historic town lade and city streets towards the hills beyond.
The kitchen is well equipped with AEG appliances, hob and electric oven, and integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer, and washer-dryer, plus a microwave oven. The bedroom has a kingsize (5 foot) double bed, a chest of drawers and plenty of built in wardrobe space. The well-specified bathroom has a modern three piece suite with a shower over the bath. Heating is via radiators fed from a gas boiler which also supplies hot water. The apartment is warm and well insulated, and there is no charge to guests for heating or electricity. The Broch Abode has an allocated parking space just outside the front door of the building.
The location of this apartment is excellent within the city, a short stroll to the city centre, all the delights of this historic town may be enjoyed on foot. Within an easy walk of the Railway and Bus Stations. The Reformation Kirk of St Johns is central in the town, and neaby are character shops, restaurant & café quarter, pubs, cinema, museums, theatre, Horsecross Concert Hall. ice-rink, swimming pool, award-winning parks and gardens are all there to explore. Visit Perth's excellent Museum and Art Gallery, The Fergusson Gallery, research your ancestry at the Bell Library. Stroll though the Sculpture Trail on the banks of the Tay, and visit the National Trust for Scotland's gem at Branklyn Garden featuring alpines and a wide variety of rhododendrons and azaleas. A bus ride from the town will take you to Scone Palace, crowning place of the Kings of Scotland or to one of the Meetings at the nearby Race Course.
Perth is a wonderful city to visit in its own right and is also the perfect base for exploring much of Scotland, with its golf courses (more than 40 in Perthshire alone), historic sights, mountains, scenic countryside and coast. Edinburgh, St Andrews, Glamis Castle, Stirling and Glasgow are all about an hour's drive. Dundee, Pitlochry and Blair Castle about 40 minutes' drive. The charming cathedral town of Dunkeld lies not far to the north of Perth, situated on the banks of the Tay in Perthshire's Big Tree Country, it was also frequently visited on holiday by the children's author Beatrix Potter to whom there is a dedicated garden and vistitor centre. The famous Gleneagles Hotel Golf Courses are about 25 minutes' drive. Walk on Kinnoull Hill, the nearby Moncrieffe Hill, the Sidlaws, the Ochils and the Dunkeld and Aberfeldy areas. You will find so many things to do and see in the area you will certainly want to return again and again!
