A superb Lochside accommodation, The Boathouse occupies a unique position directly beside Loch Earn, with its own jetty, moorings and fishing rights you have the opportunity to experience a fabulous holiday in Scotland.
You can water-ski, fish, sail and canoe from the door. A slipway is available adjacent to the property by prior arrangement. We do not allow jet ski’s as people often swim in the Loch.
This Loch side accommodation is surrounded by picturesque mountains, a front seat view of Loch Earn looking towards Edinample Castle and glen.
Sitting in the heart of Lochearnhead village means you can walk to the local bars and eating venues (open during high season).
If you want to try fishing Loch Earn you can do this on your doorstep or from a boat. If your lucky you will catch the Osprey fishing too.
On the ground floor an extensive Lochside deck area offers a superb social space, with access from the lounge via stunning, fully retractable french-doors where you can sit and watch the activity on the loch.
A large open-plan living/dining area, with wood burning stove, is the social hub of the house.
The kitchen is open plan to the living and dining area and is well equipped with American style fridge freezer, 6 burner hob with 2 ovens, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a big family bathroom with shower and large corner bath.
On the second floor is the master bedroom with its own private sitting area in front of a huge picture window where you will see Glen Ample, Edinample Castle and a spectacular view of Loch Earn. There is a separate toilet & shower room. A large twin bedroom with en-suite shower room is also located on this floor. Up a second flight of stairs is the open plan attic room, with a double bed and two single beds.
Comrie, Crieff, Perth and Stirling can be reached within an hour. If you are visiting Edinburgh or Glasgow both are just over an hour’s car journey away and offer great days out for all to experience.
Day trips will allow you to take in the breath-taking scenery of Glencoe (40mins), Pitlochry (60 mins), Oban & the Isles (50mins).
Local Tourist Information Centre
In Callander you will find the local Visit Scotland tourist Information Centre and The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park office. Both have a wealth of tourist information to give.
For the walking enthusiast Ben Vorlich is close by, Ben More lies to the North, Ben Ledi to the south, Ben Lawers, Stob Binnein, Ben Lui and Ben Challum are just a short journey away
Lochearnhead has walks beginning on your doorstep. Easier walks can be enjoyed from the Boathouse and throughout the National Park.
Picturesque courses such as St. Fillans, Comrie, Killin, Crieff and Callander are within 30 minutes drive. Gleneagles is easily reached within the hour. The Perthshire Green Card offers discounted green fees on 19 of the county’s courses.
The Sustrans National Cycle Route 7 is close by giving easy access to the 89 miles Sustrans cylcle routes from Drymen to Pitlochry. The sustrans maps will guide you. The cycle path passes through Lochearnhead giving traffic free cycling on the former railway track between Callander and Killin. Scenic local rides can also be enjoyed on the quiet roads along Balquhidder Glen and the southern shores of Loch Earn and Loch Tay.
Lochearnhead Water Sports
Lochearnhead Water Sports are popular during the summer months and can be enjoyed on your doorstep.
If you enjoy trout fishing in Scotland you can fish on Loch Earn, either by boat or from your front door.
Why not have a winter break and use the cottage as a base for skiing? Roads are quieter at this time of year making for quicker access to the nearer resorts, Glencoe (40 miles), Nevis Range (68 miles) and Glenshee (76 miles)
Wildlife and tourism go hand in hand in this area, you wont be disappointed. Red squirrels and deer are frequent visitors to the area.The Osprey can be seen diving over Loch Earn, birds of prey can be found throughout the National Park and red kite can be watched at the Argaty Red Kite Centre near Doune. The David Marshall Lodge at Aberfoyle has camera for viewing birds hatching and feeding.
