Scotland is known around the world for its Highland Games held throughout the summer, as well as the popular Hogmanay New Years celebrations and Royal Military Tattoo. There are also a number of events with roots even further back in time, such as the Beltane and Samhain festivals and the Up Helly Aa Viking Fire Festival held in Shetland.
